Locking/unlocking users

Locking removes a user’s right to log in to services, such as Outlook Web Access, or Cloud Manager. However, the locked user’s data, including mailboxes that have been set up and other product-specific assignments, are retained. This does not change the quota of assigned products and thus no resources are released.

To lock one or more users, select them by activating the check box in front of the last and first names in the user overview. Then click on the “Lock user” button and acknowledge the confirmation prompt with “OK”. You can also choose the locking functions in an individual user’s overview.

Locked users appear as crossed-out data records in the user overview, with a help text indicating the lock. The procedure for unlocking users is analogous to the locking procedure above.

Note: It can take up to 10 seconds to update the user status. Load the user table after a short wait, reloading if necessary, if the status has not changed.

Automatic locking of users:

If you set an expiration date in the user details of a user, the user account will be automatically locked on reaching the expiration date. You can set the expiration date both when creating a new user and when editing an existing user.
