Editing a mailbox

To edit a mailbox, first select the required entry in the mailbox overview by clicking on the respective row. Then click on the “Edit” button (pencil icon) in the “Mailbox data” data box.

The edit view shows you the current settings of the mailbox. You can use the following editing options depending on the mailbox type:

  • Addition and removal of email addresses (alias addresses)
  • Modification of the primary email address as the sender address for sending emails
  • Disabling/enabling of add-on and configuration options depending on the existing (available) usage authorizations
  • Disabling/enabling of the option to hide the mailbox in your organization’s global address list
  • For shared mailboxes: Modification of user permissions
  • For resource mailboxes:
    • Change the description
    • Change the administrator
    • Change the resource type
    • Change the capacity
    • Change the ability for overbooking

Caution: If you mark another, new email address as the primary email address, emails may be undeliverable for a few minutes because this address must first be registered in the system.

Finally, confirm your changes by clicking on the “Save” button.
