Creating a site collection

To create a new site collection, click on the “Create site collection” button in the overview of your site collections.

In the subsequent editing view, in addition to the site collection name, you will also specify the license type and required language. By specifying the administrator, you are determining the user who will be given administrative rights, including the right to give other users permissions for that site collection. Please note that you may first need to assign a SharePoint license to the required administrator. After selecting the license type, you will also specify the required size of the site collection. The minimum size of a site collection is 0.5 gigabytes. You can increase or decrease the size in 0.5-gigabyte steps. You can also select which template you want to use for your site collection. You have various selection options for this, such as a team site, wiki site, or blog. These correspond to the SharePoint standard templates.
