Importing contacts

You can use the function for importing a contact list to create several contacts in Cloud Manager. To do this, select the menu item “Import contacts” under “Microsoft® Exchange” in the main navigation. You can also use this function when creating a contact. To do this, click on the “Import contacts” button in the editing view for a new contact.

There is a CSV template available for importing several contacts, and you can edit this in Microsoft® Excel, for example. Please fill out the template carefully with the contact details you require. The following information must always be specified for each contact to be created:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Display name
  • Email address

Example:

  • Jane
  • Doe
  • Jane Doe
  • doe@domain.de

Once you have completed the CSV template with the required contact data, it is essential to save the file as a CSV file (delimiter separated) to be able to upload it to Cloud Manager. To upload the .CSV file, first click on the “Browse” button, then select the appropriate file and click on “Import”.

First you will see a preview of the data records contained in the CSV file.

If you click on “Next” in the preview displayed, the data records in the CSV file are first validated. If the validation is successful, you can start the import by clicking on “Next” in the subsequent dialog.

You can then track the progress of the import via the corresponding entry in the process monitor.

If erroneous records are found in the .CSV file, after validation you will receive a list of all errors that have occurred.
