Assigning a SharePoint license
To assign a SharePoint license to a user, click on the “Assign SharePoint license” button in the overview of SharePoint users.
Then select the required user for the license assignment in the “User” drop-down list and the required SharePoint license type in the “License type” drop-down list. Finally, save your selection by clicking on the “Save” button.
The “Email notification” field contains the email address where the user will receive SharePoint notifications (if an alarm has been set, for example). You can edit this field only if the user has no Microsoft Exchange mailbox and has not been created as a mail-enabled user. Otherwise, the field will already be filled with the respective email address. If the user has no mailbox and has not been created as a mail-enabled user, you can specify an external email address in this field or modify an external email address already specified in the user details.
Note: Once you have assigned a SharePoint license to a user, you need to give that user rights for the required site collection. To do this, simply access the member management in the required site collection and add the user to the site collection.
